i can be a really terrible blogger and it's not just because i have a tendency to obsess and then forget about things (although that has happened enough). in the recent events that i've been back at college, i've come to realize how severely unhappy with myself i can be. i've spent mornings dressing and undressing myself in clothes that i loved wheni bought it a week ago, only to feel like it's not longer fitting me correctly. i look at myself in the mirror and all i can see are the countless flaws that i'm going to have to cover up later in make up. i love make up and the idea of transforming yourself, but lately it's been more an issue of making me look like another person.

sometimes, i find it difficult to talk to people. it's like being back in high school and realizing that there are some people who are just never going to talk to you because they're too pretty, smart, talented etc, only to find out a bit too late that deep down they're thinking that about you too. i learnt my lesson back then but i feel like i'm slipping back into that shell.

and that's why i can be a bad blogger - while other passionate fashionistas are so keen to show of their outfits, i'm just terrified that someone out there may be judging me. maybe i hate myself to much to reveal my thoughts online. 

yesterday, i got a little fun snappy with my dslr and then played around with photoshop. it turned out pretty good actually. i might take more tomorrow but i won;t be with my camera until the night as i have uni and then.. dun dun dun! me and taylor are going to see the hunger games! i'm so excited.
i love you peeta mellark and i have been waiting for this day so bad.

finally back in sydney and i'm pretty glad that i survived the plane trip (actually, the fifteen hour trip was a lot more bearable than the first twelve hour trip, not quite sure why). there aren't many photos left but i'll be going back to college tomorrow, so maybe there will be some outfit photos.

i haven't unpacked yet, but i'm thinking that before i do,i'm going to throw most of my old clothes out - some of it to salvos/the homeless, and i might sell some trendier pieces for like.. five dollars a piece or something, and then just give away what people don't want. chances are that most of it deserves to be thrown out anyway because it's quite old and the quality probably isn't brilliant. knowing me, i'll keep the newer stuff anyway.

right now, i'm just watching pretty little liars (rewatching the second season) and it's just reminded me of why i love this show so much. it's not just because i love the mystery and high school drama, the fact that apparently sixteen year old girls are having affairs with their english teachers, or even the fact tha the characters get more and more layered. it's not even because i love holly marie combs, or that i want haleb to be together forever. no it's because watching it is like shopping online. i know i can't afford (or in the show's case, find) the pieces, but damn i love this so much.

turns out i haven't posted in a really long time because my days have been so jam packed, so basically i've been hanging out with my cousin(s), eating a lot, going disneyland, taking photos, shopping and going on an amazing cruise. tomorrow is basically our last shopping day as we're leaving the day after, so hopefully i do end up buying a lot.

i'm going with my mum instead of going with my sister (who is on her third day at disneyland with her daughters and husband) so chances are, it won't be as fun as i hope it will be. i got a tinkerbell snowglobe, four pairs of shoes/boots and some phone charms/bracelets today but it somehow still felt nightmarish being constantly scolded and not allowed to buy/look at things i liked.

ergh.

after a four day cruise and touching onto mexico, i've learnt a few things

• having unlimited food for four days will make you sick, it doesn't matter how appetizing it is.
• it sucks going on holidays with people who do nothing but call you fat.
• children are loud, noisy and don't listen. never babysit.
• it's seriously rocky on there, so if you get sea sick, take your pills.
• we treat our children too well, the kids in mexico aren't treated well enough.
• you buy a thirty dollar bracelet in australia, it was probably imported from a desperate mexican man trying to feed his family on four dollars.
• alcohol is cheap. you can get six beers and four shots for fifteen bucks, and they'll probably through in a 'mexican boyfriend'.
• they have the best handmade bracelets.
• i can still go shopping on the debarkation day and buy a lot.
• photos will come later.

i don't have much to report on today, it was a bit more of a down day for us.. we had yum cha with family in the morning and then headed off to a shopping outlet. our big stop was at coach where we collectively spent over a thousand dollars and i officially bought my first designer goods - two handbags and a wallet. it was pretty much the same thing i wanted to buy on boxing day (except for a lot less than 1800$) and i love them so much. i bought a bag for taylor's mom as well, and i'm so hoping she'll love it as much as i wanted to keep it... kidding.

i also got a pair of purple chucks. i was looking for something for taylor too but they only had white chucks in his size and well, i don't think they would have stayed white for very long haha.

and with that.. we're back in los angeles!

making up for the missing posts in vegas

unfortunately i wasn't able to blog the two nights before. i barely had enough time to transfer the photos onto my laptop (i had to do it everyday or i'd fill my memory card), because i was feeling sick. on the second day, a terrible bout of hayfever and throat infection attacked me and on the third i was sick from overreating. damn the smog and the 24 hour buffet in vegas! either way, i have a few photos to show you.

on the second day, we ended up seeing a lot of characters on the road like optimus prime, sponge bob and the yellow m&m (and mickey mouse who appeared to be in the wrong place). we also spotted a guy holding a 'not going to lie, need money for beer and cigs' sign, and a smoking (literally) mario and drunk garfield holding a bottle of vodka with the sign 'nintendo laid us off'... or what ever company it was. i was so tempted to take a photo of them but it just seemed like i'd be asking for trouble, which wasn't something we wanted at all. the sights in vegas were beautiful though and i tried to take what photos i could.

that car trip to las vegas was unnecessarily long but at least i got a new sweater and white tights from the nearby outlets. i haven't been too keen on the food today because we had too much asian (i'm so sick of asian) but i did get a bit of sushi. i had a nice steak for breakfast though, even though it was in a hongki cafe. we went to see the david copperfield show and, since i don't want to give it away to those who haven't been, it's absolutely amazing. honestly, the guy is a wizard and probably harry potter in disguise. he's also a really good entertainer, full of jokes and laughs, really natural on stage. he looks old enough to be my dad (he's only 55 so i guess he's a decade off being my father) but i think i have a new 'too old for you' crush! wish i could afford to see his shows all the time.

as for the rest of the night, we took a shower and then me, mum and dad went for a midnight walk around the strip. we got about half way but it's bloody 3am here now and i'm exhausted. tomorrow we'll be going to the excalibur to look for something the kids can do as well as shop at caesar's palace. i'm hoping we'll be having dinner at bellagio the night after next (sister and brother in law are going to see phantom so we won't be having dinner together tomorrow). it's so beautiful at night, but it was pretty late and it's not exactly tourist season so i guess it was a little lack lustre.
